A Mobile Safety Shower, Built From the Ground Up
Mike Armatage, a safety shower expert at ATS, discusses the new SafetyRig™ portable safety shower. The SafetyRig is the first mobile safety shower that was designed from the ground up with the heavy industrial user in mind.
From the video:
ATS went to a high-end trailer designer and manufacturer and engineering firm. We asked them to start from scratch to develop a safety shower trailer that would be designed specifically for those difficult industries to fill that niche. Of course, if a safety shower trailer will work for fracking companies and for rental companies, it will sure work for everything else. We started from the ground up, we used different materials, we used military grade specs designed with the heavy industry user in mind. It’s got a beefed up suspension. It’s got very, very tough materials. It has compliance in mind. It has the end user in mind. Any application really, where you need a remote safety shower that is movable from site to site and easily movable, the SafetyRig is the perfect solution. It offers an enclosed environment that is easily recognized in the field, that is easily accessible for a user or someone who has been injured, and it’s easily activated, very, very user-friendly. It provides an immediate source of tepid water.
The SafetyRig is different in that there’s no wood in the product. The frame is much heavier than the traditional cargo trailer frame used for highway use. The suspension is heavier. The materials that go into it, the steel that goes into it is heavier gauge than most trailers use. It’s a military grade product. That’s just the kind of toughness that people are looking for. They’re tired of renting or buying equipment that they are constantly having to fix or repair, that doesn’t last. They really want something that’s going to be reliable long term. We recognized the need for something much tougher, much more durable, something with long-term value in mind for the ultimate customer. We created a product that is so much tougher than anything else on the market. It just really, really stands out. We expect it’ll be a mainstay at many heavy industrial sites over the next years.
